Minutes of the Trustee Meeting 28th November 2019 at the Dalton Community Centre at 5.30pm.

3.Declaration of Interest RC (Financial interest in Dalton Drill Hall History project) NP (Dalton Town Council)
4.Minutes of the meeting on 31st October 2019:These were accepted as a true record.
5.Matters arising None
6.Financial Approval of Payments:The accounts had been distributed prior to the meeting and these were accepted by the Trustees.
BD thanked PW for coming into work during a recent bereavement to ensure minutes etc prepared for this meeting.
7 Financial Report (Treasurer)Before the meeting the Treasurer had sent the accounts to all Trustees.
The Treasurer said there had been little movement in November, there was a small surplus in the accounts.
The accounts will be sent out in December, but he will need the bank statements to be sent asp.
BD advised Trustees that the 2018/19 Annual Return will be going on Charity Commission website in a few days.
8.Payments In:All up to date
9.Building Work The East Wing has been painted. The go ahead has been given for a flat roof.
BD met with the builder today as soon as there is dry weather. Staley Gates is doing work in the hall re the projector.
There are small jobs needing work all the time, BD thanked IM for all his work.
Gutters need some work on them including the removal of a bird’s nest.
The cost of the roof is £14750, this needs to be paid in advance and then claimed back from Bay Wind who are funding the project.

11.Future Grants and Funding Bids: DCA has been selected by the Co Op for their community project.
If a Co Op member nominates DCA , then every time they buy a Co Op product DCA will receive 1%.
Francis C Scott Trust have agreed a grant of £5500 to pay a part time youth worker salary for one year.
Drop Zone will employ the Youth Worker and invoice DCA for any payments.
The National Lottery are celebrating 25 years by giving grants to organisations of £1000, DCA will be applying for a grant,
DCA has been awarded another award South Cumbria Community Hero’s and has been nominated for a Love Barrow Award,
The Drill Hall Project has been extended until April 30th 2020. As part of this project Dowdales will be performing a drama.
12.Volunteer Co Ordinator: Brenda Walker (BW)is organising a Christmas Craft Fair at the Centre on Sunday 1st December,
she would welcome any raffle prizes or any help on Sunday .BD mentioned a fund raising event taking place in May 2020
involving Barrow Male Voice Choir.
13.PR Marketing, New Bookings, Social Media BD said it was disappointing that Instagram was not used more or monitored
14.Users Meeting: Army Cadets have a new photocopier, which DCA can use if needed.New flags have been put up outside the building.
15.Any other business: The service has been done on the solar panels by the supplier,
BD took the opportunity to ask him for a quote on a new flat roof and the rest of the building.
The new panels will not qualify for a tariff but will reduce energy consummation by a considerable amount.
There may be an opportunity for funding from Electricity North West.
BW had a good idea of producing a party package for renting the hall for parties with a fixed fee.
